Daily Qur'an & Hadith 25 Dec 2020 (08 Jamadi Al`Awwal 1442)

Ayat 1. Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Clear Book (the Qur'an that makes clear the legal and illegal things, legal laws, a guidance and a blessing).

Ayat 2. Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an in order that you may understand.

Tafseer of Surah Yusuf PBUH Ayat 01 & 02, A.L.R. These are the Symbols (or Verses) of the perspicuous Book. For the meaning of these mystic letters, Ayat Signs, Symbols, verses of the Qur'an. The Symbolic meaning is particularly appropriate here, as the whole of Joseph's story is a Sign or a Miracle—a working exposition of the Plan and Purpose of Allah. Cf. 5:15, The predominant meaning of Mubin here is: one that explains or makes things clear. 2. We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur´an, in order that ye may learn wisdom. Qur'an means: something (1) to be read, or (2) recited, or (3) proclaimed. It may apply to averse, or a Surah, or to the whole Book of Revelation (Cf. 16:103 and 41:44).

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Ibn Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah cid:B7046F3B0C454705A7A897ACDCC229C8@gmail[SAWW](PBUH) said, "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.''

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2910]

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Yusuf Ayat 1. "Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]." This Hadith urges us to recite the Qur'an and also mentions the great reward for reciting it.

Today’s Beautiful Hadith is about Honour

Narrated `Aisha (RA): Hind bint `Utba bin Rabi`a said, "O Allah's Apostle! (Before I embraced Islam), there was no family on the surface of the earth, I wish to have degraded more than I did your family. But today there is no family whom I wish to have honoured more than I did yours." Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "I thought similarly, by Him in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is!" Hind said, "O Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him)! (My husband) Abu Sufyan is a miser. Is it sinful of me to feed my children from his property?" The Prophet (SAW) said, "No, unless you take it for your needs what is just and reasonable."

(Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol.8, Book 83, Hadith 20)

The Prophet's (SAW) family is to be honoured and the Messenger of Allah (SAW) deserves our love and to have blessings upon him, so send salawats on him regularly. The more you do this, the more barakah and sakinah you will have in your life. Don't abandon the path to peace by leaving behind the beautiful example he set for us and just reading about it. Make his character your ideal and work towards bettering yourself. You can do it!
