Daily Qur'an & Hadith 17 June 2019 (12 Shawal 1440)

English Translation of Al-Quran
[05] Surah Al-Ma'idah [The Table Spread With Food]
Ayat 117. "Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allah) did command me to say: 'Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and O Allah You are a Witness to all things. (This is a great admonition and warning to the Christians of the whole world).
Tafseer of Surah Al Ma'idah Ayat 117. "Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst command me to say, to wit, ´worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord´; and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things. Cf. 5:72 Jesus here acknowledges that he was mortal, and that his knowledge was limited like that of a mortal. They do blaspheme who say: "(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. Cf. Matt. 4:10, where Christ rebukes Satan for desiring the worship of other than Allah; John 20:17, where Christ says to Mary Magdalene, "Go unto my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father; and to my God and your God." Cf. also Luke 18:19, where Christ rebukes a certain ruler for calling him Good Master: "Why call thou me good? None is good, save One, that is, God." In Mark 12:29 Jesus says: "The first of all the commandments is, Hear O Israel: the Lord our God is One Lord",

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Irbad bin Sariyah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: One day Messenger of Allah cid:image004.gif@01D4665A..0DD045F0[SAWW](PBUH) delivered us a very eloquent Khutbah on account of which eyes shed tears and hearts were full of tears. A man said: "O Prophet of Allah, this is as if it were a parting advice. So advise us". He cid:image004.gif@01D4665A.0DD045F0 [SAWW](PBUH) said, "I admonish you to fear Allah, to listen and obey even if an Abyssinian slave is appointed as your leader. Because whosoever among you shall live after me, will see much discord. So hold fast to my Sunnah and the examples of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs who will come after me. Adhere to them and hold to it fast. Beware of new things (in Deen) because every Bid`ah is a misguidance".
[Abu Dawud Hadith # 4607 and At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2676].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ma'idah Ayat 117 O Allah You are a Witness to all things. (This is a great admonition and warning to the Christians of the whole world)” This Hadith stresses piety, obedience to the leader, following in the footsteps of the Prophet cid:image004.gif@01D4665A.0DD045F0 [SAWW](PBUH) and the first four noble caliphs. It strictly forbids innovation in Deen. This Hadith also reveals the prediction of the Prophet (PBUH) that the Muslim Ummah will become a victim of dissension. He also prescribed the right means to counteract it. The remedy that he has proposed for this problem is that Muslims should never deviate from the path laid for them by him and his righteous successors. This is the touchstone for discovering the truth from the mess of different views. All the troubles of Muslims would come to an end if they accept this as the one singular criterion of right and wrong.

Imagine spreading knowledge to millions of people while earning immense rewards and blessings
Today's Beautiful Hadith is about Journeys
Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA):The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When three are on a journey, they should appoint one of them as their commander.

(Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 15, Hadith 132)

When travelling with family or in a group, having someone take charge ensures responsibility for all and that everyone’s going in the same direction. Alhamdulillah that this hadith encourages that!

On the authority of Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with them), who said that the Messenger of Allah (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
'The world is sweet and green (alluring); and verily, Allah is making you to succeed each other, generations after generations in it in order to see how you act. So beware of this world and beware of women.''
