Daily Qur'an & Hadith 09 May 2019 (03 Ramadan 1440)

English Translation of Al-Quran
[05] Surah Al-Ma'idah [The Table Spread With Food]
Ayat 66. And if only they had acted according to the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), and what has (now) been sent down to them from their Lord (the Qur’an), they would surely have gotten provision from above them and from underneath their feet. There are from among them people who are on the right course (i.e. they act on the revelation and believe in Prophet Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH)like 'Abdullah bin Salam ), but many of them do evil deeds.
Tafseer of Surah Al Ma'idah Ayat 66. If only they had stood fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There is from among them a party on the right course: but many of them follow a course that is evil. The literal translation of the two lines would be: "They would have eaten from above them and from below their feet." To eat (akala) is a very comprehensive word, and denotes enjoyment generally, physical, social, mental and moral, and spiritual. "To eat what is forbidden" in verses 65 and 66 referred to taking unlawful profit, from usury or trust funds or in other ways. Here "eating" would seem to mean receiving satisfaction or happiness in this life as well as in the life to come. "From above them" may refer to heavenly or spiritual satisfaction, and "from below their feet" to earthly satisfaction. But it is better to take the words as a general idiom, and understand "satisfaction or happiness from every side", (Cf. 6:14 and 7:19 ).

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: We took Suhur (predawn meal) with the Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) and then we stood up for (Fajr) Salat (prayer). It was asked: "How long was the gap between the two?'' He replied: "The time required for the recitation of fifty Ayat.''
[Al-Bukhari Book # 01, Chapter # 10, Hadith # 550].
Lesson: We learn from this Hadith that Suhur should be taken towards the end of its timing. This is the Sunnah of the Prophet image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH). One should, however, take care that it is done before dawn.

Today's Beautiful Message is about Poor Mothers
What would you do for your mother?

The status of mothers in Islam cannot be understated. They carry us for 9 months, nurture and protect us through Allah’s mercy and spend their entire lives praying for us and our Akhirah. A mother is special and has an eternal bond with her child, just as a child never forgets their mother.

Help the poorest mothers in Pakistan and Kenya receive the essential aid they need to survive. From food, medical support, doctors, safe deliveries of their children and teaching them a trade so they are self-sufficient, Penny Appeal’s Fragile Lives campaign is a dedication to mothers worldwide and honours the relationship that our beloved Prophet (SAW) said was the most important.

We are going to do a skydive to raise money for this campaign and whether in memory of your own mothers, to honour their presence or just because you love your mum, donate generously and help us help those who need support the most.

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with them), who said that the Messenger of Allah (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
'Verily! The world is accursed and what it contains is accursed, except remembrance of Allah and those who associate themselves with Allah; and a learned man, and a learning person.''
