Daily Qur'an & Hadith 18 April 2019 (12 Shaban 1440)

English Translation of Al-Quran
[05] Surah Al-Ma'idah [The Table Spread With Food]
Ayat 45. And We ordained therein for them: "Life for life , eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal." But if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it shall be for him an expiation. And whosoever does not judge by that which Allah has revealed, such are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers - of a lesser degree).
Tafseer of Surah Al Ma'idah Ayat 45. We ordained therein for them: "Life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal." But if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (No better than) wrongdoers. The retaliation is prescribed in three places in the Pentateuch, viz., Exod. 21:23-25; Leviticus 24:18-21, and Deut. 19:21. The wording in the three quotations is different, but in none of them is found the additional rider for mercy, as here. Note that in Matt. 5:38, Jesus quotes the Old Law "eye for eye." etc., and modifies it in the direction of forgiveness, but the Qur'anic injunction is more practical. This appeal for mercy is as between man and man in the spiritual world. Even where the injured one forgives, the State or Ruler is competent to take such action as is necessary for the preservation of law and order in Society. For crime has a bearing that goes beyond the interests of the person injured: the Community is affected: see 5:32 . This is not part of the Mosaic Law, but the teaching of Jesus and of Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH). Notice how the teaching of Jesus is gradually introduced as leading up to the Qur'an The seeming repetitions at the end of verses 44, 45 and 47 are not real repetitions. The significant words in the three cases are: Unbelievers, wrongdoers, and rebellious: and each fits the context. If the Jews tamper with their books they are Unbelievers; if they give false judgements, they are wrongdoers. If the Christians follow not their light, they are rebellious.

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said,  There is none born but is created to his true nature (Islam). It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian (or a Polytheist) or a Magian quite as beasts produce their young with their limbs perfect. Do you see anything deficient in them? Then he quoted the Quran, The nature made by Allah in which He has created men there is no altering of Allah's creation; that is the right religion"
[Muslim Book 03, Chapter 33, Hadith # 6423]
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ma'idah Ayat 45. And whosoever does not judge by that which Allah has revealed, such are theZalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers - of a lesser degree)” This Hadith brings out the following point: Only Allah has a power to guide any to the true path the right path is Knowledge and understanding of Deen (religion) here stands for the understanding of the Qur'an and Hadith, religious injunctions, and knowledge of the lawful and the unlawful.

Today's Beautiful Hadith is about the Parable
Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) narrated: "The parable of the believer who recites the Qur'an is that of a citron, its fragrance is nice and its taste is nice. The parable of the believer who does not recite Qur'an is that of a date, it has no smell but its taste is sweet. The parable of the hypocrite who recites Qur'an is that of basil, its fragrance is nice but its taste is bitter. The parable of the hypocrite who does not recite the Qur'an is that of the colocynth, its smell is bitter and its taste is bitter."
