Daily Qur'an & Hadith 22 April 2019 (16 Shaban 1440)

English Translation of Al-Quran
[05] Surah Al-Ma'idah [The Table Spread With Food]
Ayat 49. And so judge (you O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) between them by what Allah has revealed and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they turn you (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) far away from some of that which Allah has sent down to you. And if they turn away, then know that Allah’s Will is to punish them for some sins of theirs. And truly, most of men areFasiqun (rebellious and disobedient to Allah).
Ayat 50. Do they then seek the judgement of (the Days of) Ignorance? And who is better in judgement than Allah for a people who have firm Faith.
Tafseer of Surah Al Ma'idah Ayat 49 & 50. And this (He commands): Judge thou between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they beguile thee from any of that (teaching) which Allah hath sent down to thee. And if they turn away, be assured that for some of their crime it is Allah’s purpose to punish them. And truly most men are rebellious. 50. Do they then seek after a judgment of (the days of) ignorance? But who, for a people whose faith is assured, can give better judgment than Allah. The Days of Ignorance were the days of tribalism, feuds and selfish accentuation of differences in man. Those days are really not yet over. It is the mission of Islam to take us away from that false mental attitude, towards the true attitude of Unity. If our Faith is certain (and not merely a matter of words), Allah will guide us to that Unity.

English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Sufiyan bin `Abdullah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I said, "O Messenger of Allah cid:image004.gif@01D2D28D.521400B0 [SAWW](PBUH), tell me something of Islam which I will not ask anyone else about it.'' He cid:image004.gif@01D2D28D.521400B0 [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Say, `I believe in Allah' and then be steadfast".
[Muslim, Book 01, Chapter 14, Hadith # 062].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ma'idah Ayat 50. Do they then seek the judgement of (the Days of) Ignorance? And who is better in judgement than Allah for a people who have firm Faith” Steadfastness means adhering firmly to the injunctions of Islam, to act upon what is ordained and avoid what is prohibited, to perform dutifully orders in respect of obligations and what is regarded desirable and avoid what is unlawful. Faith is not a mere expression of Shahada. The real Faith is one which is coupled with its actual practice because practice of religion is in fact the fruit of Faith. A tree which does not bear any fruit, has no value, similarly; faith becomes meaningless without practice. Steadfastness is the mark of perfect Faith.

Today's Beautiful Hadith is about Knowledge
Narrated Kathir ibn Qays (RA): Kathir ibn Qays (RA) said: I was sitting with Abu Darda (RA)' in the mosque of Damascus. A man came to him and said: Abud Darda, I have come to you from the town of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) for a tradition that I have heard you relate from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I have come for no other purpose.

He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge, the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth and the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man. The superiority of the learned man over the devout is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham, leaving only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an abundant portion.

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with them), who said that the Messenger of Allah (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
'If a believer had full knowledge of the chastisement of Allah, none would covet His Jannah; and were an infidel to know the Mercy Allah has, none would despair of His Jannah.''
